Your local aircon installers, based right here in Mango Hill
We do not travel in to Mango Hill. We start every working day here.
Mango Hill has changed faster than almost anywhere in Moreton Bay. The suburb had about 4,340 residents in 2011 and close to 14,900 by 2021, and a run of new schools, from Mango Hill State School in 2012 to Mango Hill State Secondary College in 2020, followed the families who moved in. Much of the housing here is recent, and plenty of new homes are handed over with no air conditioning at all.
That makes Mango Hill a different job from an older suburb. Switchboards are usually modern, roof spaces are clear and wall framing is predictable, so a lot of installs here are straightforward back-to-back splits. The common questions are about planning: which rooms to do first, what size each one needs, and whether to go ducted before the ceilings are full of stored boxes.
The suburb still carries its history in its name. Mango trees were planted along a 700 m stretch of Anzac Avenue, the WWI memorial road that was heritage listed in 2009, and locals were calling the area Mango Hill decades before the name became official in 1980. Today the Anzac Avenue corridor, the two railway stations that opened in 2016 and the Bruce Highway crossing nearby make it an easy suburb for us to get around, whichever end of it you live in.
Connex Electrical has been based in Mango Hill since we started in 2014, and owner Darren Standring has been a qualified electrician since 1997. Also see EV charger installation in Mango Hill and Electrician Mango Hill.
Adding air con to a brand new Mango Hill home
If your builder did not include air conditioning, you can add it at any time without damaging the warranty on the house, as long as the work is done by licensed trades and certified. We provide a certificate of compliance on every job.
Ask your builder for any pre-wiring or conduit details before we visit. If none exists, we simply run a new dedicated circuit from the switchboard.
Doing it in stages
Plenty of young families in Mango Hill start with the main bedroom and living area, then add the kids' rooms later. That works well with individual splits, because each one is independent.
If you think you will end up cooling every room, it is worth pricing a ducted system or a multi-head unit now, so we can compare total cost before you commit to the first split.
Outdoor unit placement and neighbours
In newer estates, houses often sit close together. We place condensers where they get airflow, can be serviced safely and are as far from bedroom windows, yours and your neighbour's, as the layout allows.
What we install in Mango Hill
All the air conditioning work a newer home needs, done by a licensed and ARCtick accredited local team.
First air con for a new build
We plan the whole house with you, then install the rooms that matter most first, with room left on the switchboard for the rest.
Back-to-back split systems

Ducted air conditioning
Hidden, whole-of-home cooling run through the roof space with zones for living and sleeping areas. Quoted after a free assessment.

Mango Hill air conditioning questions
Which room should I air condition first in a new Mango Hill home?
Most families start with the main bedroom, because good sleep makes the biggest difference in summer. The open-plan living area usually comes next. West-facing rooms heat up fastest in the afternoon, so they jump the queue if you work from home.
Will adding air con affect my builder's warranty?
Not if it is installed by licensed trades and certified. We hold both electrical and refrigeration licences and leave a certificate of compliance on every job. If you are unsure, check your builder's handover documents for any rules about wall penetrations.
Is ducted worth it in a newer Mango Hill house?
It can be, especially if you want every room cooled and have good roof space. Ducted costs more upfront than one or two splits, but it is tidy and controlled from one place. We quote it after a free assessment so you can compare it properly against splits.
What size split system does a Mango Hill bedroom need?
A typical bedroom often suits a 2.5 kW unit, which is why we offer the TCL 2.5 kW supply and install from $1,650 incl. GST. Larger or west-facing rooms may need more. Our sizing guide explains how we work it out.
Do you charge a callout fee in Mango Hill?
No. There is no callout fee on booked work, and quotes are free. Every price we give includes GST.
How often should a new split system be serviced?
Clean the filters yourself every few weeks in heavy use, and book a professional service regularly to keep it efficient and support warranty claims. Our article on how often to service your air conditioner covers the detail.
