Air Conditioning Installation Aspley
Many Aspley homes already have air con that has done its time. We replace ageing units with efficient inverter splits, recover the old refrigerant properly and check the wiring behind it.

Time to replace the old air con in your Aspley home?
Aspley is a settled, established suburb, so a lot of our work here is upgrading systems rather than adding air con for the first time.
Aspley has deep roots. It was known as Soldiers Flat and then Little Cabbage Tree Creek before being officially named in 1897 after John Morris's Aspley Orangery and Vineyard. Land was first subdivided in the 1860s, the suburb joined Greater Brisbane in 1925, and it was called North Chermside until the mid-1970s. A wave of schools opened here in 1963, a sign of how much the area grew in that era.
The population has stayed steady for years, and the median age is a little older than the national figure. Put simply, many households have been in their homes a long time, and so has their air conditioning. An air conditioner that is well over a decade old is often noisier, less efficient and harder to get parts for than a modern inverter split.
Most of the suburb is flat land around Little Cabbage Tree Creek, with hills rising to the east and south. Homes on the slopes can have tricky condenser positions or under-house access, while flat blocks usually allow a simple ground pad. We look at both before we quote.
Connex Electrical is based in Mango Hill and travels down Gympie Road to Aspley and its neighbouring northside suburbs. Also see EV charger installation in Aspley and Electrician Aspley.
Signs your air conditioner is due for replacement
Rising power bills, weak airflow, rattles from the condenser, ice on the pipes or a unit that cannot hold temperature on hot days all point to a system near the end of its life.
If repairs keep adding up, a new inverter split is often the better long-term spend. We will give you an honest view either way.
What happens to the old refrigerant
Old systems contain refrigerant that must be recovered with proper equipment, not vented. Our ARC licence #AU42842 covers this work.
We then remove the old units and, where suitable, reuse the wall penetration to keep costs down.
Checking the wiring behind an older install
Older air con circuits sometimes lack modern protection. We fit an RCBO where needed ($180 to $400 incl. GST) and let you know if your switchboard needs an upgrade.

Replacement and installation costs in Aspley
Know the price before we start, with GST included.
A straight swap on a back-to-back setup is usually our most affordable job, because the location and wall penetration already exist. If the old pipe is unsuitable, the condenser needs to move, or the house sits on a slope that complicates access, we quote after a free assessment. Additional costs may apply for non-standard installs.

Aspley air con replacement FAQs
Should I repair or replace my old Aspley air conditioner?
If the unit is old, uses more power than it should and needs a major part like a compressor, replacement is usually better value. If it only needs a clean or a minor fix, a service may be enough. We assess it and give you both options.
Can the new unit go where the old one was?
Usually, yes. Reusing the same position and wall hole keeps the install simpler and often within our standard back-to-back price. We check that the spot still makes sense for airflow and room size.
Can I reuse my existing pipework?
Sometimes, but often not. Old pipe may be the wrong size for the new refrigerant or unit, or may be damaged. We inspect it and replace it if there is any doubt about reliability.
Do you take away the old air conditioner?
Yes, if you ask. We recover the refrigerant with licensed equipment first, then remove the indoor and outdoor units.
My home is on a slope. Does that change the price?
It can. Steep ground or under-house condenser positions can need extra brackets, longer pipe or more labour, and we quote that after a free assessment. Flat blocks are usually standard.
Do you service Carseldine, Geebung and Bridgeman Downs?
Yes. We cover Aspley and the surrounding northside suburbs, travelling from our Mango Hill base, and there is no callout fee on booked work.
