One suburb, three very different types of air con job
Burpengary started as a timber town and a truck stop on the old North Coast Road, and its housing still reflects each stage of its growth.
European settlement here began in the 1870s around timber-cutting, and the provisional school opened in 1876. For much of the twentieth century the town grew around the highway, now the Bruce Highway, which forms its eastern edge. Since 2005, planned communities, easy M1 access and a growing shopping precinct around Burpengary Plaza have brought a new wave of families, and by 2013 Burpengary was being named one of the region's fastest-growing residential areas.
That history gives us three distinct types of job. In the older homes, we start by checking the wiring and switchboard, because many were built long before air conditioning was common. In the newer estates, installs are usually straightforward splits, with the main question being sizing and placement.
