EV Charger Installation Everton Park
Duplex, townhouse with its own garage or a family house off South Pine Road, we install EV chargers across Everton Park and sort out who owns which wall before we start.

Shared walls, separate meters
More than a quarter of Everton Park residents lived in semi-detached or higher-density homes at the 2011 census, so many installs here happen in a garage that shares a wall with a neighbour.
The area was called Kedron, after Kedron Brook, until 1891, and part of it was known as Bunyaville. The modern name comes from the Everton Park Estate, which in turn came from the home of pioneers William James and Ambrose McDowall, who named it after Everton in Liverpool. Today the suburb has grown past 10,000 residents, with a mix of detached houses, duplexes and townhouses between South Pine Road and Old Northern Road.
In a duplex or small townhouse group, the practical questions are simple but important. Is your switchboard inside your unit, or in a shared meter box? Is the garage wall yours or common property? Does the cable have to cross a shared driveway? Getting those answers early means the charger is connected to your own meter and approved by whoever needs to approve it.
There is no train station in Everton Park, so most residents drive to Gaythorne, Mitchelton or Oxford Park stations, or straight into the city. That everyday car use makes home charging worthwhile, especially if you can charge overnight on a cheaper tariff.
Everton Park is roughly 9 to 11 km north-west of the CBD, and our electricians travel down from our Mango Hill base. Also see Air conditioning installation in Everton Park and Electrician Everton Park.
Duplexes and small complexes
Small complexes of two to six homes often have a simple body corporate or a shared building agreement. If any cable or mounting touches common property, you will usually need written agreement.
We provide a short scope with the cable route, mounting point and circuit details for your neighbours or committee. Our strata charging guide has more.
When the meter box is outside your garage
In some townhouses the meters sit in a bank at the front of the complex. The charger still needs to be fed from your own meter, which can add cable length at $25 per metre.
We measure the route first and include it in your written quote.
Detached houses
For freestanding homes, it is usually a standard job: a 7 kW charger beside the board or in the garage at $990 incl. GST, with a board check on older homes. Our switchboard guide lists the warning signs.

We tailor the install to who owns what, where your meter is and where you park.

Everton Park EV charger questions
Do I need my neighbour's permission to install a charger in my duplex?
Only if the work touches shared property, such as a common wall, driveway or meter box. If everything is on your title, you usually do not. We help you work out which applies.
My townhouse meter is at the front of the complex. Can I still get a charger?
Yes. The charger is fed from your meter, which may mean a longer cable run at $25 per metre. We measure it and include it in your quote.
Can a charger fit in a narrow single garage?
Usually. Wall chargers are compact and we mount them where the cable reaches the car port without being in the way of the door or your car. We check clearances on site.
Is a charger worth it if I drive to Mitchelton station each day?
Even short daily trips add up, and charging at home overnight is convenient and usually cheaper than petrol. A 7 kW charger tops up a week of short trips in one night.
What if the body corporate says no?
Committees often have questions rather than outright objections. A clear scope showing metering, cable route and safety protection answers most of them. We can adjust the plan if they request changes.
Do you need to tell Energex?
Some installs need an electrical work request lodged with Energex, and we handle it. See our Energex rules article.
