Planning an EV charger install in Caloundra West
Caloundra West sits about 90 km north of the Brisbane CBD, so when we travel up from Mango Hill we plan each job to be finished in one well-prepared visit.
Caloundra West is a relatively young suburb, only named and bounded in 1988, sitting just west of the Caloundra CBD. It is a mix: residential streets and the Bellvista Estate in the west, an industrial estate and more housing in the north, Caloundra Airport in the middle and marshland to the south. Its population grew from 6,297 in 2016 to 7,270 in 2021, so plenty of homes are recent and well suited to a charger.
Being close to the coast is the detail we pay most attention to. Salt-laden air is tough on exposed metal and electronics, so for chargers mounted in open carports or on external walls we recommend units with a good weather rating, stainless or corrosion-resistant fixings and sealed glands. Inside a closed garage this matters less, which is one reason we ask where you park before quoting.
Since we are not based on the Sunshine Coast, the photos you send beforehand do a lot of work. They let us bring the right RCBO, the right length of cable and the right mounting hardware, so the job is completed in a single trip without a second visit.
